Vanes Martirosyan Targets: I Can Beat Sergio Martinez!

By Chris LaBate

Undefeated WBC silver junior middleweight champion Vanes Martirosyan would like to get his shot at the king of the middleweights, Sergio Martinez. Martirosyan is in line to face the full WBC champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, but has his doubts about the young Mexican accepting the challenge. He believes Martinez would accept the challenge. Martinez faces unbeaten British boxer Darren Barker on October 1.

"Everybody that has a title, I want you. But, I would love to fight Sergio Martinez. Me and him would be a great fight. I would love to step in and fight him, even at 160. I think I could beat him and I would love the opportunity to fight him," Vanes told OnTheGrind Boxing Radio.
