Vanes Martirosyan To Face Roman on Chavez-Zbik Card

By David Rosenberg

BoxingScene.com has learned that undefeated junior middleweight Vanes Martirosyan (29-0) will return on June 4th on the undercard of the Chavez-Zbik middleweight title fight that takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Martirosyan was scheduled to face Saul Roman for the WBC Silver belt on April 23rd but was forced to pull out when an illness interrupted his camp. Top Rank is trying to keep Roman as the opponent.

The Armenian is coming off a 2nd round knockout of Bladimir Hernandez on March 19th.

I give Roman a decent shot of winning, Martirosyan's only notable wins are a gift against Ouma and a win over a very inactive Greene.
