Former WBA world champion heavyweight Nikolai Valuev (50-2, 34 KOs) has no immediate plan to return to the ring. The heavyweight division is ruled by Wladimir (56-3, 49 KOs) and Vitali Klitschko (42-2, 39 KOs). According to the 37-year-old Valuev, his stablemate in Sauerland Event, Alexander Povetkin (21-0, 15 KOs), is the only boxer capable of beating the Klitschko brothers. Povetkin will face Ruslan Chagaev on August 27 for the vacant WBA "regular" title. Wladimir Klitschko is the WBA's "super champion."

"I think Povetkin can do it. He has a chance. Besides him, I do not see anyone who could do it. Alexander can successfully compete with Wladimir, but first he needs to improve on some elements. To win, he must make Klitschko to move around the ring, because the same audacious attack is not enough. In order to win, he needs to attack from different angles - that's the only chance to break the defense of Klitschko - get close and strike," Valuev said.

[QUOTE=edgarg]That's a most odd suggestion and would be impossible, except that it's Teddy, and as you say, he hates the Klitschkos. I find it hard to understand the word "hate" the way it's usually thrown around here, and in truth I can't actually hate anyone, even the guy who used to call himse...

Id be very interested in either Klitschko bro beating up Valuev. Honestly just his size alone makes the situation interesting. I think Wladimir could KO him too, which would be awesome. make it happen!!

[QUOTE=Ravens Fan]I don't think it has anything to do with money or Atlas even caring about Povetkin's welfare. I truly believe that, for what ever reason and as crazy as it sounds, Teddy hates the Klit bros so much that his ego will not allow a fighter that he trained to be embarrassed by one of...

[QUOTE=edgarg]I don't think it was Povetkin who was concerned about fighting Klitschko it was Atlas. Povetkin was getting $2 million, and, as Teddy said, when the usual accusations began to fly from the boxing sites, including this one, that he was putting the fighter's welfare above money, that ...

[QUOTE=boxwatch]to bad povetkin does not have the same confidence as valuev or we would have seen a fight between wlad and povetkin 2 years ago but he keeps finding new way to dodge wlad now he get to fight for a worthless title that belongs to chagaev in the first place but was striped of for ...
