Featherweight prospect Oscar Valdez (1-0, 1 KO) will fight in America for the first time as a pro this Friday against Corben Page (4-4-1).
Valdez, a two-time Mexican Olympian, has been preparing for the fight by sparring bantamweight titleholder Leo Santa Cruz (22-0-1, 13 KOs). Valdez-Page will be a part of Top Rank’s Jessie Vargas-Vito Gasparyan card at the Texas Station Casino in Las Vegas.
In his much-publicized pro debut last month, Valdez earned an impressive second-round stoppage of Angel Prado (1-2) in his hometown of Hermosillo.
