A big card will be conducted at the Sport Palace of Odessa in Ukraine on July 21. Vyacheslav Uzelkov (26-2, 12 KOs) will try to make another step in his slow comeback after disappointing losses to Beibut Shumenov and Eduard Gutknecht by facing Swiss Mohammed Belkacem (20-5-1, 9 KOs) for the vacant WBO I/C title at the light heavyweight limit. Uzelkov is ranked #6 by the WBA and #9 by the IBF. His opponent is unrated.
Recent world title challenger Max Bursak (24-1, 10 KOs) looks to refine his skills against Estonian middleweight journeyman Sergey Melis (18-10, 7 KOs) less than three months since his spirited but one-sided loss to Hassan NDam NJikam. Their fight is scheduled for eight.
In another title affair, local crowd-pleaser Olexander Spyrko (14-0, 7 KOs) is set to go twelve against an opponent to be named in a bid for a vacant WBO European light middleweight crown. And, finally, Rustem Memetov (8-2, 3 KOs) looks forward to defend his Ukrainian lightweight title versus yet-to-be-defeated opponent in Valentyn Golovko (16-0, 11 KOs).
