Juan Manuel Marquez is motivating Mexican athletes in every area of the sports world. The UFC is no different. This Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Cain Velasquez will look to duplicate Marquez's magic by unseating the UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos, who gave Velasquez the sole defeat of his career.
Marquez shocked the boxing world on December 8th when he knocked out Manny Pacquiao in the sixth round of their fourth fight, which took place the same venue where Dos Santos and Velasquez II will square off as the main event of the UFC's 155 pay-per-view.
Velasquez received some words of encouragement from Marquez during a recent trip to Mexico.
"[Marquez's win is] a great motivation. I definitely want to step up and deliver a great performance like Marquez did. We both were on a plane to Mexico City and we talked for a bit there," Velasquez was quoted by MMA Mania.
