Former champion Tyson Marquez (34-3, 25KOs) was stopped in his last fight but the 24-year-old fighter from Sonora still has a lot of opportunities before him. A possible return is being discussed for March 23rd.

He was knocked down three times and stopped by WBO champion Brian Viloria in the tenth round of their flyweight unification bout on November 17th.

If Viloria remains at flyweight, then Marquez wants a rematch in the fall. If Viloria moves up to the super flyweight division, then Marquez is looking to face unbeaten Milan Melindo (28-0, 11KOs) for the vacant WBO belt.

"There are several plans for Tyson, and we will do a rematch with Viloria in the second half of 2013," said promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions.
