According to promoter Frank Warren, the current plan is to have heavyweight Tyson Fury (25-0, 18 KOs) fight no less than four times in 2018.

Fury has been inactive since November 2015, when he traveled to Germany to capture the WBO, IBF, WBA, IBO heavyweight titles with a major upset over Wladimir Klitschko.

The remaining belts were dropped when Fury stepped away from the sport to deal with his mental health issues.

In the last few weeks, Fury has solved an outstanding issue with UK Anti-Doping and put everything in position to reclaim his license to box from the British Boxing Board of Control.

Warren close to finalizing an April return date for Fury, who is currently training hard for that fight.

“He's lost weight, about five stone and looks great,” Warren said to BoxingScene.com's Declan Taylor. “His mindset is right, he's ready to go. The name of the game is to keep him busy. We will get him out, fighting regularly.

“We will aim to get him out four times in the first year back.”

The big fight for Fury is a domestic blockbuster with WBA, IBO, IBF champion Anthony Joshua, who faces WBO champion Joseph Parker in a unification on March 31 in Cardiff.

Warren stated in a recent interview that Fury deserves at least a 50-50 revenue split in a Joshua fight.

“Tyson never lost his titles in the ring and Anthony Joshua (20-0, 20 KOs) has just been the benefactor of Tyson's self-inflicted wounds," Warren said.

“The fact of the matter is that until he beats Tyson Fury, he isn't the lineal champion. That's just how it is. As much as Tyson Fury needs to fight him, he needs to fight Tyson Fury. It needs to be done and nothing should get in the way of that.”
