A pair of boxing cards promoted by Top Rank in Las Vegas earlier this month sold a combined 1,232 tickets for a combined gate of $45,115, according to figures provided by the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
The Aug. 3 card at the Texas Station casino which aired on ESPN2s Friday Night Fights and featured Mercito Gesta vs. Ty Barnett in the main event sold 579 tickets for a gate of $20,920, for an average of $36.13 per ticket sold.
Another 408 tickets were given away for free, while 152 tickets went unsold.
The fighters on the Aug. 3 card had a combined $64,500 in purses reported to the state athletic commission.
The Aug. 4 card, also at Texas Station which aired on Telefutura and featured Diego Magdaleno vs. Antonio Davis in the main event, plus Mike Lee and Jose Benavidez in separate bouts on the undercard sold 653 tickets for a gate of $24,195, for an average of $37.05 per ticket sold.
Another 517 tickets were given away for free bringing the total for free tickets given away for the two cards to 925 while 54 tickets for the Saturday card went unsold.
The fighters on the Aug. 4 card had a combined $71,200 in purses reported to the state athletic commission.
