With a little less than a month to go, World Boxing Association (WBA) "regular" champion Austin "No Doubt" Trout (25-0, 14KOs) is increasing the intesity of his training and he feels ready to claim the position of former three division king Miguel Cotto (37-3, 30Kos).

"I feel great, I'm still training hard and ready to beat Cotto on December 1. I have great respect for Cotto, but it's my time to be the next superstar in boxing," said Trout to Paul Maldonado.

Back in 2010, Trout had sparred with Antonio Margarito, who handed Cotto the first pro defeat of his career. Margarito stopped Cotto in their first meeting, but the Putero Rican star got revenge with a TKO victory in the rematch.

"It was a great experience sparring with Margarito. He's is a tough guy, but Margarito's style is very different from Cotto. In the first fight, Margarito dominated him. In the second, Cotto showed why he is one of the best. But none of that has to do with my skills," said Trout.
