Tramaine Williams Arrested, No-Go For Garcia-Burgos

According to a report by Chris Hunn of the New Haven Register, undefeated Top Rank prospect Tramaine “Mighty Midget” Williams (8-0) was arrested Thursday morning in New Haven, Connecticut. The information was confirmed to the paper by Williams' trainer Brian Clark.

Williams, 21-years-old, will be arraigned Friday morning and will not fight Saturday night as part of the undercard to Mikey Garcia-Juan Carlos Burgos at The Theater in New York's Madison Square Garden.

The arrest came as part of a huge police raid on the Slut Wave gang. One of the residences raided was located on Button Street, which is where Williams, and others, were living with his grandmother. A Tec-9 semiautomatic pistol was found under Williams' bed, according to the trainer.

“They found a gun under the bed where he was sleeping,” Clark said. “I don’t think it’s his. There’s a lot of people living in that house. I’d love to say he’s totally innocent, but I don’t know.”

Williams was charged with possession of an assault weapon and drug possession. The paper also notes that Williams was also arrested last Friday for four motor vehicle violations, including driving without a license.
