Top Rank Plans For Many More Shows in Puerto Rico

By Miguel Rivera

This past Saturday's doubleheader in Caguas was the start of a long term plan by Top Rank to have a continued series of shows in Puerto Rico. Earlier this year, Top Rank broke their business ties with their partner in Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico Best Boxing, and they have now aligned themselves with Miguel Cotto's promotional company, Miguel Cotto Promotions. Top Rank and Cotto co-promoted Saturday's card.

"Our idea is to do more events on UNIMAS together and to end the year with several shows on HBO Latino, which we will promote together. They [Miguel Cotto Promotions] he asked me to come here [to Caguas] because this will be the beginning of what we will do together this year, and many of the events will take place in Puerto Rico," said Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum to Carlos Narvaez.
