Top Rank Plans Card For 9/13 in Vegas, Vargas Possible

BoxingScene.com has been advised that Top Rank is planning to stage a card on September 13th at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. The show will take place two days prior to Top Rank's HBO pay-per-view event at the nearby Thomas & Mack Center - featuring Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. vs. Sergio Martinez in the headliner.

The card at the Hard Rock will be televised on ESPN as a special edition telecast which interlocks with Chavez-Martinez fight week. One of the names being kicked around to appear on the show is welterweight contender Jessie Vargas (19-0, 9KOs), who recently signed a promotional contract with Top Rank.
