Former Philippine and Pan Asia Boxing Association flyweight champion Rolly Lunas is scheduled to battle WBU bantamweight champion Nathan Sting who returns to action in a ten round bout on March 5 at Homebush, in Sydney, Australia.

It will be Sting’s first outing since he successfully defended his title via a unanimous decision over British champion Nicky Booth on September 20, 2003. Sting won the WBU title with an eleventh round TKO over Johnny Armour on July 5, 2003. Lunas who has a record of 16-4 with 9 knockouts has lost his last two bouts. He dropped a unanimous decision in a WBC Asian Boxing Council title fight against Saenghiran Lookbanyai last May 31 and then lost a majority decision in a close fight with Jake Verano on October 23.

Sting who has a record of 27-6-1 with 13 knockouts tried his luck in England last year but failed to land a fight and as a result has been dropped from both the WBA and IBF top 15 ratings. Sting rejoined his former trainer Les Wilson on the Gold Coast last December and is looking for Lunas to give him a decent fight in a determined effort to get back into the limelight and into the ratings.
