Tony Bellew: I'll Be in The Best Shape of My Career

WBO World Light-Heavyweight title challenger Tony Bellew is gearing up for his showdown with champion Nathan Cleverly and is looking to impress in front of his home crowd in Liverpool.

Cleverly and Bellew have squared off against each other at a number of press conferences since May when the pair were due to fight.  They finally step in between the ropes on Saturday 15th October at the Liverpool Echo Arena, LIVE and EXCLUSIVE on BoxNation (Sky Platform Channel 456).

Bellew, the unbeaten fighter from Wavertee, said, "It's going to nice hearing the crowd cheering for me and fighting in my hometown.  All my friends and family are going to be there so it will be a great occasion and it will be even better at the end of the night when I win,”

"I can’t wait. It’s going to be an electric atmosphere when I walk out into the Echo Arena and my Z Cars music is playing, that will really get my juices flowing and make me perform to my best,” added the 28-year-old.

The “Bomber” feels that he’s in the best shape of his life for the biggest test of his career with only two weeks to go until they meet.

"I’ve been working really hard in the gym for the fight and I'll be in great shape on the night," he continued. "This is a big opportunity for me and it's the biggest fight of my career so far - I'm not leaving any stone unturned in the build up to fight night.

“I’ve had a number of really good sparring partners, but I know what to expect from Nathan and I’m ready for what he is going to bring to the ring. I’m not going to let this opportunity slip through my grasp.”

Tickets, priced at £50, £100, £150 and £250, are available from:

Cleverly is in a different league to Bellew. Bellew is seen as a bit of a laughing stock in the UK. He has talked big for this fight, whilst Cleverly has just gone about his business, going to look a…

Pressure's on! He's done a lot of talking, made a lot of promises. A lot of disappointed people if he doesn't deliver. It's tough to walk in your home town knowing you've promised and let people down. I re-watched the…
