Tomoki Kameda Links With Pepe Gomez's Cancun Boxing

Promoter Peper Gomez of Cancun Boxing has announced that Tomoki Kameda (24-0, 15 KOs), the WBC's silver bantamweight champion, is now being promoted by his company. This Saturday at the Chetumal International Business and Convention Center in Quintana Roo, Kameda will defend his title against Javier Franco (21-9-1, 10 KOs).

Gomez wants to take Kameda to the United States and further his development there.

The show is being co-promoted with Golden Boy Promotions and carrried by Televisa and Fox Sports in the United States.

Also on the card, Sergio “Yeyo” Thompson (24-2, 22 KOs) will defend his WBC silver super featherweight title against Luis Armando Juarez (16-5-2, 4 KOs). And Roberto "Massa" Ortiz (26-0, 22 KO) will defend his WBC silver super lightweight belt on the show.

Tomoki is getting the star treatment in Mexico. Usually non Mexicans get the bum rush and beat out of town, but not "mejicanito" Kameda. Mexicans will accept outsiders, ask Jose Napoles, but Tomoki may not progress with such easy pickings.…

what a God awful place this Chetumal is to get to, looked up some info & 1 can be mislead thinking close to Cancun, no way & terrible flights out of US 2 get there. The boxers would have to…
