Tomoki Kameda, Denver Cuello Grab Knockout Wins

By Miguel Rivera

Convention Center, Quintana Roo - Japanese bantamweight Tomoki "Little Mexican" Kameda gave one of the best performances of his young career in stopping a very game Jesus Ceja of Mexico in the seventh round. Kameda's hands were quick, his punches were strong and Ceja was being punished when the referee stepped in. Kameda raised his record to 21-0, 13 KOs, while Ceja dropped to 15-10-1, with 11 KOs.

Filipino Denver Cuello demolished Mexico's Carlos Perez at 1:37 of the first round. Cuello (# 2 WBC) and Perez (# 5 WBC) fought for the WBC's silver strawweight title. After taking a few punches to the head and body, Perez went down for the count. Cuello raised his record to 29 wins (19 KOs), 4 defeats and 6 draws. Perez dropped to 12 wins (8 KOs), 3 losses and 3 draws.
