Rojas claimed that he accepted a sum of money to take a dive in the contest. Rojas, who was doing very well in the fight, went down for the count from a shot to the body in the sixth.
Sulaiman said: "When Rojas talked about that, I was out of Mexico. I found out about it a few days later. This is a matter of global pain, and we needed to step in is because the title at stake in that fight was the WBC Latino bantamweight belt. I wanted address this in a private audience with Rojas and he agreed to come on Monday, but then he called us to say he would not come because the promoter would not allow him to, but he never named the promoter. I accepted the knockout, but I was shocked that he was winning so easily and then suddenly he got hit and fell. I hereby suspend him pending his appearance [before the WBC]."
