Tim-Robin Lihaug Will Leave Nothing To Chance

Tim-Robin Lihaug (7-1, 5 KOs) is leaving nothing to chance in preparation for his domestic showdown with super middleweight rival Simen Smaadal (8-0, 3 KOs) on September 13 at TAP1 in Copenhagen.

The Bergen-boxer has teamed up with legendary Norwegian coach Ulf Johansen and is now entering the final stages of a two and a half month training camp in Torrevijea, Spain.

'‘This is by far the best training camp I have ever had before a fight,’’ said Lihaug. ‘’I have been training with Ulf every day, two times a day. He is very serious in his work and is always pushing me to do things better and smarter. I can already see a big difference.

''I know Simen will bring his A game, but I honestly believe that I’m the better fighter and I plan to show that on September 13.’’

Johansen, who made his name working with Norwegian greats Steffen Tangstad and Ole Klemetsen, has been impressed with what he has seen from Lihaug and believes his young protégé is on course for victory in Copenhagen.

‘’Tim has done everything I have asked of him and more,’’ said Johansen. ‘’He is very committed and a fast learner. Everything is 100%, physically and mentally he is in great shape. We have developed a perfect game plan and if Tim sticks to this plan there is no doubt in my mind that he will win.’’

WBC, WBA & WBO Female World Welterweight Champion Cecilia Brækhus (25-0, 7 KOs) is also in action on September 13. The pound-for-pound queen takes on the IBF Champion Ivana Habazin (13-1, 5 KOs) in a historic unification fight.
