On June 27th former two-division champion Tim Bradley (31-1-1, 12KOs) will return to the ring against undefeated former super lightweight title holder Jessie Vargas in an HBO televised main event.
While the Vargas fight was being negotiated, a fight against IBF super welterweight champion Cornelius "K9" Bradley was also being discussed. The 5'6" Bradley said that he would still consider a move up in weight for the right opponent.
"154 if it makes sense why not? I can compete with these guys. I have good defense and can box. I am short but I can beat these guys," said Bradley who is clearly focused on Vargas.
Bradley last fought at the StubHub Center in Carson, California in March of 2013. Bradley took a tremendous amount of punishment in the fight but held on to win a close decision. This will be his first fight back at the stadium known for producing thrilling fights.
"That is the war grounds right there. That is where I fought Ruslan Provodnikov in the 2013 Fight of the Year. Jessie Vargas is an undefeated champion and guess what - he wants to beat me and I am going to beat him," Bradley told BoxingScene.com.
