Former two division world champion and Showtime expert analyst Paulie Malignaggi gave his keys to victory for this Saturday's welterweight explosion between WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (26-0, 22KOs) and former IBF beltholder Shawn Porter (26-1, 16KOs).

The fight was delayed several times before they finally came to terms on the date. The fight was scheduled to take place earlier this year, but pushed back after Thurman was involved in a car accident.

Malignaggi spoke with Premier Boxing Champions and explained what each fighter has to do to come out victorious.

FOR KEITH THURMAN - "Keith Thurman wins this fight if he can have his spots controlling the distance and not let Porter maul him the entire time. Shawn Porter is a guy who will try to maul you the entire time. Keith Thurman can win in spots if he can make Porter pay for the mauling tactics. I think the uppercut will be key in that fight, because Porter comes in a lot of the times with his head down and he’ll try to rush you with that body to body contact. Once he has that body to body contact, he tries to push you around and get you off balance."

FOR SHAWN PORTER - "Shawn Porter wins this fight if he can stay away from the big power shots of Thurman. Shawn is never going to be mistaken for Pernell Whitaker, as far as a defensive specialist - but he does have his ways of defending. A lot of the times he’s at a high guard when he attacks and he will also get chest to chest with you."

Malignaggi does expects fireworks with two big welterweight going at it.

"This is a fight that is going to be exciting. This is a fight between two powerful welterweights. Not just good welterweights, but they're big welterweights. Again, they’re going right at each other. People want to fill that number one spot. With the exit of Floyd [Mayweather], nobody is lollygagging around. Porter and Thurman are really taking the first step to try and secure that top spot."
