Thurman vs. Guerrero Being Targeted For November 2

By Rick Reeno

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has advised BoxingScene.com that he wants to put together a high stakes showdown between WBA interim-welterweight king Keith "One Time" Thurman, and former champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero, for November 2nd. Golden Boy is planning a big event for the date and Thurman-Guerrero is on Schaefer's radar for the show.

Thurman (21-0, 19KOs) last fought on July 27th, when he knocked out previously undefeated Diego Chaves in an action-packed fight. Guerrero (32-2-1, 18KOs) last fought in May, losing a twelve round decision to Floyd Mayweather Jr.

"I'm going to do a very significant card on November 2nd. One fight I would love to see, as a fan - one of those Fight of The Year candidates, one of those fights that are must see TV, something that you know is going to be a hell of a fight, can't miss TV, must tune in - and that's Keith Thurman against Robert Guerrero. It would be an absolute barnburner of a fight. I don't know if I'm going to be able to pull it off, but that's the kind of fight I want to put on November 2nd, as part of a doubleheader or a potential tripleheader ," Schaefer told BoxingScene.com.

The card, says Schaefer, may also feature the return of lightweight sensation Omar Figueroa (22-0, 17KOs), who last month fought a Fight of The Year candidate with
Japanese contender Nihito Arakawa.
one of the stupidiest coments I ever heard here.
No, actually "God has put me here to humble Floyd Mayweather" is one of the stupidest comments.....

Shouldn't Guerrero be fighting Broner? Interim champ (whatever that means) vs. the "full" (of shyte) champ? IJS.......

This is the kind of fighter Guerrero can really look good against.
