ThrowdownFantasy's Weekend Review (Jan. 24 & 25)

Busy last weekend in boxing as there was six events in two nights that featured 16 fantasy fighters. Friday night saw ESPN2 Friday Night Fights, Fox Sports 1 Boxing and NBC Sports Fight Night. Saturday featured HBO Boxing After Dark, Showtime Championship Boxing and ESPN3 aired Marco Huck vs. Firat Arslan.

We start with Friday night and ESPN2 FNF. In the co-main event, Rico Ramos beat Jonathan Arrellano via unanimous decision. Ramos earned a meager 38.5 points for the win as he landed 135 total punches and Arrellano earned 6.6 points in the loss.

Fox Sports 1 card featured Cornelius Bundrage winning via unanimous decision over Joey Hernandez. Bundrage earned 57.5 points as he landed 225 total punches and finished with a +9. Hernandez earned 14 points as he was able to land 140 total punches.

NBC Sports Fight Night had Curtis Stevens vs. Patrick Majewski in the main event.

Stevens finished off Majewski with a 1st round KO while only having to land 8 total punches. He earned 110.8 fantasy points, a game high so far. Majewski earned 0.1 fantasy points as he landed just 1 punch.

Saturday night had 3 events starting with Marco Huck KO 6 over Firat Arslan. Huck earned 70.9 fantasy points as he scored the 6th round KO and landed 109 total punches. Arslan earned 31.6 as he landed 116 total punches and had a +19 before getting KO’d.

Next up was Showtime Championship Boxing as Lamont Peterson took care of business and earned a unanimous decision over Dierry Jean. Peterson landed 230 total punches and finished with a +15 to earn 68 fantasy points. Jean earned 12.3 fantasy points as he landed 123 total punches.

In the undercard, Jermell Charlo earned a unanimous decision victory over Gabriel Rosado dominating the entire fight. Charlo earned 93.9 fantasy points as he landed 239 total punches and had an amazing +39. Rosado earned just 9.4 fantasy points as he was only able to land 94 total punches.

HBO Boxing After Dark pitted Mikey Garcia up against Juan Carlos Burgos. Garcia earned the unanimous decision although it wasn’t the most exciting fights to watch. Garcia earned 51.3 fantasy points while Burgos earned just 8.9.

The undercard featured Bryant Jennings vs. Artur Szpilka. Jennings earned the late 10th round stoppage and got 72.3 fantasy points for the victory as he landed 173 total punches and had a +17. Szpilka earned just 8.9 points.
