Welterweight contender Thomas Dulorme (16-0, 12KOs) is now getting prepared for his HBO televised debut on October 27th.
According to Dulorme's trainer, Jose Bonilla, HBO is pushing for a fight against veteran Argentine slugger Luis Carlos Abregu, who only lost a single fight, by decision, to current WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley.
Dulorme and Bonilla were looking to face Nick Casal, but HBO is not in favor of the match. To fight Abregu, there would have to be more money on the table, says Bonilla.
"We were better off before, because Casal (22-4-1, 17KOs) is a fighter who would go up from 140 to 147, but HBO is pushing it with Abregu (32-1, 26KOs), although that would require greater financial compensation," said Bonilla to Raul Alzaga of Puerto Rico.
"Abregu is much stronger. He one of those fighters who comes forward and he can withstand a lot [of punches]. He is a high quality opponent."
