Terrazas Recognizes The Danger of Leo Santa Cruz

By Miguel Rivera

WBC super bantamweight world champion, Victor Terrazas (37-2-1, 21KOs) recognizes the danger of his mandatory challenger Leo Santa Cruz (24-0-1, 14KOs). The challenger's promoter, Golden Boy Promotions, won the mandatory purse bid and the fight will possibly take place on the Mayweather-Canelo undercard on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"I want to be a champion who makes several defenses and I want to last as champion for a long time. Santa Cruz is strong and likes to come forward and throws punches from every angle, so I have to get in the best shape of my career for this match," Terrazas said.

Terrazas won the title earlier this year with a very close twelve round decision over his countryman Cristian Mijares.
