Team Vazquez Wait For Donaire Fight Confirmation

By Reynaldo Sanchez

Hollywood, Florida - Felix "Tutico" Zabala, owner of the Florida based promotional company, All Star Boxing, advised us that he's waiting for confirmation from Bob Arum of Top Rank, regarding a super bantamweight clash between Wilfredo Vasquez Jr. (21-1-1, 18KOs), and "Filipino Flash" Nonito Donaire (27-1, 18KOs).

Arum, who promotes Donaire and co-promotes Vazquez with Zabala, made a request to the WBO to sanction a Donaire-Vazquez bout for the vacant super bantamweight title. The fight is possibly going to happen in February 2012.

“We are ready to make this fight. Bob Arum asked the WBO to sanction this fight and the title is now vacant. We are only waiting for confirmation from the WBO and Top Rank to make it. We are waiting for their replies on this matter and we will immediately work out the terms of the fight," Zabala said.

Interesting fight and a lot more close than the casual fan may think.

I would much rather see Arce - Vazquez II this will just be a slaughter ... Vazquez being sacrificed
