The camp of Filipino Marlon Tapales claims he was the victim of a hometown decision against Mexican David “Tornado” Sanchez in their WBC bantamweight Silver title fight at the Sonora State Gymnasium  in Hermosillo, Mexico on Sunday, Manila Time.

Sanchez who had claimed he would destroy Tapales was himself in trouble on more than one occasion according to the Fiipino’s manager Rex “Wakee” Salud who told us his team in Mexico had claimed it was a clear hometown decision where the judges had Sanchez winner by a majority decision.

Sanchez improved his record to 22-2-2 with 16 knockouts while the 20 year old Tapales lost for only the second time in his career to drop to 20-2 with 7 knockouts.

BoxingScene.com reported that Sanchez “had a tough time with Tapales who did everything to upset the odds.”
