Last week WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson and former champion Jean Pascal fired shots back and forth at each other here on Boxingscene.com. Stevenson called Pascal an undercard fighter and scoffed at the notion of a 50-50 purse split. Pascal Promotions CEO Greg Leon responded back by questioning, among other things, the intelligence and business acumen of Stevenson.

"If he was so popular and so good like he says he is, people would buy his fight.  He is not even on Showtime or HBO.  He's not on a big network.  On top of that he's not really interesting but if you really want to watch him you can go on Groupon and get 40% off.  They will give you 40% off to go to his fight in Canada.  This guy is completely ridiculous," Pierre-Louis told Boxingscene.com.

Pierre-Louis also took exception to claims from Team Pascal that Jean gave Stevenson a gift by allowing him to face Chad Dawson for the WBC title.

"When he said he gave Adonis a gift by (Stevenson) fighting Chad Dawson, he didn't want to fight Chad Dawson.  That is why he took the fight against Bute.  Pascal thought that, 'okay I am going to fight Bute and make two million dollars and Adonis Stevenson is going to fight Chad Dawson and he is going to lose and I am going to fight Chad Dawson after.'

"That is what he thought but it didn't happen like that.  Adonis shocked the world and beat Chad Dawson and became a spectacular fighter and that is what people want to see.  They want to see him against Kovalev. That is the fight the people want to see," Pierre-Louis stated while saying that Pascal is almost irrelevant and begging for a fight.

"Jean Pascal is just a guy begging for a fight.  We have never turned down any fights.  Al Haymon is the one making the fights and not Adonis Stevenson.  If the deal makes sense, Haymon is going to go for it.  He is the one in charge of who Adonis fights.  Jean Pascal isn't the one who is going to dictate the terms, no 50-50.  Who the heck are you bro?  If you want to fight Adonis Stevenson the terms are 70% for the champion and 30% for the undercard fighter who thinks he's a superstar.

"Your not even on HBO or Showtime.  How are you going to dictate the terms when no one even wants to see you fight?  Boxing is the entertainment business.  No one wants to see you fight."

Stevenson returns to the ring on December 19th against Dmitry Sudhotsky in a Showtime televised main event while Jean Pascal return to the ring in December 6th against Roberto Bolonti in the main event of a card that will be distributed on pay-per-view.
