| Team Rigondeaux are Hunting For a Big Name Opponent
|
|
By Reynaldo Sanchez The current super bantamweight world champion of the WBA, Cuba's Guillermo “The Jackal” Rigondeaux (9-0, 7KOs) will leave on Wednesday to Panama, where he plans to attend the WBA's Awards Dinner. Gilberto Jesus Mendoza, Executive Vice-president of the WBA, sent an invitation to the Cuban fighter. Regarded as the best amateur in boxing history, the two-time Olympic gold medal winner captured a world title in only nine pro fights. Rigondeaux will travel over to Panama with adviser Eddy Marín. On the other hand, the boxer's managers and promoters are working very hard to secure a big fight for Rigondeaux in the near future. “We are searching for an opponent with quality and a big name for Rigondeaux. We have already clarified that we have come to face the best and this is what we plan to do,” Marín said. Tags: Guillermo Rigondeaux |
Rigondeaux is a boring fighter. Donaire and Nishioka will beat him easy :boxing:
Because you find Rigondeaux boring, does that make him any less of a threat at 122? |

I think he should fight Arce or Nishioka. |

Wouldn't mind seeing Rigondeaux fight Shimoda, Molitor, or Ndlovu next. Shimoda was beating Ramos until the KO and is a highly ranked SBW. Molitor is highly ranked as well. Ndlovu would be good, because he beat Molitoer and is the IBF SBW champ. Collect more belts Rigo. |
