Last week Egis Klimas, the manager of WBO featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko, expressed an interested in consummating a bout against Guillermo Rigondeaux , but made it clear that it would have to be at the featherweight limit - not a catch-weight contest.

There are statements from Rigondeaux's side that they have accepted the challenge for a fight at 124-pounds.

To which Klimas told BoxingScene.com on Monday afternoon - "There's no catch-weight. If they want to come up it would be 126. We are a champion of the featherweights which is 126 pounds. They want to compete with us, that has to be 126 pounds.

The Cuban southpaw holds the WBA and WBO belts at 122 pounds.

As for the 124 pound catch-weight, Klimas stated - "I have no idea where that came from. It was never mentioned by me. All the way it was 126."

Klimas, who also handles the career of light heavyweight king, Sergey Kovalev, is staunchly against the recent trend of catch-weights.

"(Rigondeaux) can be 124, I don't care,"he said."He can be 118 if he wants to but the rules are 126, it's the featherweight division."
