Team Guerrero: If Khan Fights Us, He Can Forget Floyd

By Rick Reeno

Bob Santos, co-manager of former champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (31-2-1, 18KOs), advised BoxingScene.com that there is absolutely no truth to the circulating rumors of a fight being negotiated with incoming welterweight Amir Khan (28-3, 19KOs). However, Santos would welcome the opportunity to make such fight - although he doubts the match will happen because he fully expects Guerrero to derail any possibility of a potential fight between Khan and pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs).

"I've been getting a lot of calls about this, but there is 100% no truth that Robert Guerrero is going fight Amir Khan. If Khan wants to fight Robert, we can make that fight tomorrow. I can tell you this, if Khan steps in the ring with Robert - he can forget about Mayweather because I am 100% confident that Robert will stop him," Santos told BoxingScene.com.
So Guerrero didn't want any part of Thurman, or Soto-Karass, but he'll happily check Khan's chin? Call it cherry picking or holding out for the bigger money fight: I see it as a bit of both.
Every other fighter you…
