Former junior welterweight champion Devon Alexander's manager and trainer Kevin Cunningham reached out to BoxingScene.com to reveal Team Alexander's list of potential opponents for the St. Louis native's next fight.

Cunningham and former junior welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi have traded barbs the past few weeks on BoxingScene. On Wednesday, Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker Eric Gomez (who promotes Malignaggi) said that he was all for the fight but said that it would most likely have to wait till next year due to HBO and Showtime having a lack of television dates and funds to finance the fight before the year is out.  Cunningham wanted to set the record straight.  He said that Malignaggi is just one of many potential opponents for his fighter.

"Malignaggi is just one guy we are looking at.  We aren't going to wait around for Paulie Malignaggi.  There are a lot of opponents out there."

Alexander is coming off a hotly contested victory over the hard punching Argentinean Lucas Mathysse. He is looking to return to the ring seven pounds north in the welterweight division towards the end of the year.  Team Alexander will be watching the Amir Khan versus Zab Judah fight closely as Cunningham would be interested in pitting his fighter versus Judah.  Cunningham and Judah have a history as Cunningham trained former two division champion Cory Spinks who split a pair of fights with Judah.  Sebastian Lujan recently called out Alexander, saying that Devon should fight him instead of Malignaggi.

"Mosley, Judah, Malignaggi and (Sebastian) Lujan are all on our list of potential opponents.  Team Alexander is looking to make noise at 147," said Cunningham.
