Gaby Penagaricano, legal adviser to WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs), denies that there have been any discussions regarding an opponent for his fighter's planned HBO televised return on December 13th at New York's Madison Square Garden.

Several names have been bouncing around the press, but Penagaricano says the entire team will not meet to discuss possible opponents until next week - which is going to be their first meeting regarding that subject.

"[Andy] Lee, Canelo, [Tim] Bradley - these are names that have been mentioned by the press. We have not discussed them. Clearly, I also believe that Lou Dibella [promoter of Lee] is trying to 'bring the sardines closer to the grill' [by floating Lee's name around to the media] to see if his fighter will become the opponent of Miguel. With respect to Bob Arum [promoter of Bradley], he also talks a lot with the media and says many things. But the first actual meeting to coordinate these things will take place next week, seriously," said Penagaricano.
He should choose Curtis Stevens. If he wants to prepare for GGG, when it comes to power, and a test, Curtis Stevens can give him that test. But Curtis Stevens power is no where near as good as GGG's power.
LOL, yeah right, he is gonna choose Canelo or Ishe Smith
Go watch UFC if that's what u want. In boxing, there's too much money involved and the fighters/advisors are calling the shots. This is what we get. I accept it as sad as that might sound. It is what it is.
It's just that simple. Thing is the fans with sense are more ...
Neither Cotto nor any other MW should count on soft-targets to pad their resume. Cotto\Roach made a calculated move to nail Sergio at the right time and it paid off ... Now its time to step-up to real challenges and dance with valid healthy MW's. Boxing shouldn't be about scams...
What a *****!!! He waits until Rubio and GGG are no longer available. This fraud needs to relinquish the belt. He doesn't want to fight middleweights unless they're disabled or bums.
Rubio ain't getting no shot! GGG has to wait till next yr. We taking out whoever in Dec...
