Team Alexander on New Date, Judah-Malignaggi Winner

By Ryan Burton

BoxingScene.com recently caught up with Kevin Cunningham, IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander's trainer and manager, to get his thoughts on the date and venue change of Devon's title defense against Shawn Porter. The fight was originally slated to take place on November 30th in San Antonio but will now take place on December 7th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn underneath the Paulie Malignaggi versus Zab Judah main event.

Cunningham said that they are happy to be part of the blockbuster quadrupleheader and hinted that they would like to face the winner of the main event.

"We have no problem with moving to December 7th at Barclays. I think it's great for the fans when you get a mega-card like this.  You have four main events in New York where the stage is bigger and we are preparing to steal the show. I also like the idea of being on the same card with Judah-Malignaggi. We wouldn't have a problem with giving the winner a shot at the title," Cunningham told BoxingScene.com.
