Team Alexander on Khan "Who cares what he wants?"

By Ryan Burton

Yesterday an article ran on BoxingScene.com where former junior welterweight champion Amir Khan said that he would like to face either Devon Alexander, Andre Berto or Robert Guerrero in December.  Khan hopes that a win over either former champion will lead him to a shot against Floyd Mayweather in 2015.

"For December we're looking at a few names, the likes of Alexander, Guerrero. Berto has also been mentioned but we train together, so that would be quite hard. I like Berto, he's a good friend of mine. But I'm one of those guys - I'll never say 'no' to a fight. I'll take whoever they decide to put me against," Khan told The Daily Telegraph.

"A fight in the first week or second week of December would be ideal. I'd like it to be in England, but there's a lot of talk that it may be in Dubai. I'm just going to let Al Haymon [Khan's adviser] and the team, Golden Boy, give me a few options and I'll take it from there."

Khan and Alexander were supposed to face each other last December at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn, NY.  Khan, believing he had a May fight against Mayweather secured, opted to bypass the fight and go straight to Mayweather. Khan's plans fell through when Mayweather opted to face Marcos Maidana instead.

When Alexander's manager and trainer Kevin Cunningham heard the news that Khan was looking to possibly face his fighter again, Cunningham said that Khan already had his chance and that Khan doesn't call the shots.

"Khan has already ducked Devon once so who cares what he wants," Cunningham told BoxingScene.com.
