Team Alexander: Khan is Playing Games With The Fans

By Rick Reeno

Kevin Cunningham, manager and trainer of IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander (25-1, 14KOs), is surprised with some of the social network commentary comming from potential opponent Amir Khan (28-3, 19KOs). Khan posted a statement where he claims to have already agreed to face Alexander several weeks ago. Khan's return is targeted for December 7th.

"I've agreed to fight Devon Alexander weeks ago. He's creating hype. Its Devon who needs to sign. I'd fight him anywhere."

Cunningham has no idea who Khan is negotiating with, because Alexander has yet to receive a solid proposal.

"We don't have anything to agree to. He's playing games with the fans and the fans aren't stupid. He says he wants to fight Devon. And Devon definitely wants to fight him. Stop playing games with the fans with the fact that you've agreed to fight Devon - because Devon has agreed to fight you. But until a deal that makes sense is struck - it's a bunch of bullsh*t," Cunningham told

"How could [Khan] go out and say a deal is 90% done and you don't even have a deal with the guy [you're trying to fight]. They are doing business for them and us. I guess they represent us too. What kind of deal does Khan have? A deal to fight himself?"
That could apply to Khan just as easy. I don't know what's going on but I don't have any reason to believe one over the other because they've both taken on a crap load of champions for the number of…
There are so many things wrong with this post it's crazy. First off, Peterson made a career high purse of $650k vs Khan. They did negotiate for a while, as happens with all big fights, but this never went to…
With regards to the bold, that has to be one of the dumbest things i've ever read. The man with the money has the upper hand in the negotiations. Nobody cares about that paper belt, don't you get that?…
I think Alexander is on the Mayweather sweepstakes so I expect him to turn down the bigger offer with Khan and fight some casamayor type of fight and then probably onto Mayweather.
That could apply to Khan just as easy.…
