Taylor Shocks Victor Cayo, Magomed Stops Bisbal

Resorts Hotel & Casino, Atlantic City, New Jersey - Junior welterweight Emanuel Taylor (17-1, 12KOs) shocked the more experienced Victor Cayo (31-4, 22KOs) with an eight round technical knockout victory.

Cayo had all sorts of issues in the first four rounds, but started to adjust and dropped Taylor with a hard counter in ther fifth. Taylor came back in the sixth and started to rally in the seventh as Cayo's left eye started to close. At the start of the eight, Taylor landed a combination of punches to send Cayo down against the ropes. Cayo barely got up and the referee waved it off a moment later.

Magomed Abdusalamov (17-0, 17KOs) struggled in the first two rounds but picked up the pace in the third and finally put together a hard combination to drop Victor Bisbal (21-2, 15KOs) hard in the fifth round for a TKO victory, retaining his WBC United States (USNBC) heavyweight title.

Junior middleweight prospect Thomas "Cornflake" Lamanna (11-0, 6KOs) scored two knockdowns on his way to winning a six round unanimous decision over Joshua Snyder (9-9-1, 3KOs). The scores were 58-54, 58-54 and 57-55.
