A boxing club in Tasmania's north-west is proving a cut above the rest, preparing four youngsters for the Commonwealth Games decider.
The Australian Championships are being held in Perth in early April.
Latrobe boxing club coach Craig Woods has had his son Luke, nephew Jackson, Dylan Hardy and Nick Cooney on a tight training regime in his back shed.
"The main goal at the moment is the four of the boys winning their gold medals back, so automatically gets them into the Commonwealth Games," Mr Woods said.
Bantamweight Jackson Woods is hoping to perform better than he did at the London Olympics, where he bowed out in round one.
His cousin Luke has moved up to the 69 kilogram division and says he will bring more than strength to the ring.
"I'm pretty cocky, I'm fast and cocky," he said.
Cooney is in the lightweight division while Hardy is in the 81 kilogram division.Tags: Amateur Boxing
