Tarver vs Green Showdown Reportedly Close For July

By Chris LaBate

According to the press in Australia, a deal is reportedly very close for Danny Green (31-3, 27KOs) to defend his IBO cruiserweight title against former light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver (28-6, 19KOs), who recently fought at heavyweight. Sources close to Green told The Australian that a deal is set to be announced in the next day or two. The fight is likely going to take place in July in Sydney, Australia. Green last fought in November, winning a unanimous points decision over BJ Flores at Perth's Challenge Stadium.

Tarver won a ten round decision over heavyweight Nagy Aguilera in October. He weighed 221-pounds for the fight. Green weighed a career high of 195.5 for the Flores defense.
