Promoter Pepe Gomez says he is currently negotiating to stage a fight between WBC super featherweight champion Takashi Miura (25-2-2, 19KOs) of Japan against mandatory challenger Sergio "Yeyo" Thompson (27-2, 25KOs). The dates being discussed include August 15th and August 17th in Mexico.  Miura captured the title in April from Gamaliel Diaz, who went down four times in the contest before the referee waved things off in the ninth round.
