Professional boxing returns to the San Gabriel Valley on Friday night with a seven-fight card at the Quiet Cannon in Montebello, CA.

Headlining the "Battle of the Rising Stars" card is a six round bout between super bantamweights Khabir Suleymanov and Daniel Quevedo.

The Russian-born Suleymanov (16-4, 6 KOs) lost an eight round unanimous decision to Roman Morales on March 7 in Pala, Calif. Suleymanov was dropped five times by the unbeaten Morales, but was able to make it until the final bell.

Quevedo (13-15-2, 8 KOs) is winless in his last five bouts after winning three fights in a row.

In a six round junior welterweight bout, Sergey Lipinets (2-0, 1 KO) of Kazakhstan fights Rynell Griffin (7-21-2, 2 KOs).

Five four-round bouts will round out the card.

Tickets start at $50 and could be purchased at the door or by calling (323) 816-6200 or (323) 781-4871. Doors open at 6:30PM, with first bell scheduled at 7:30PM.

The Quiet Cannon in located at 901 Via San Clemente, just off of Garfield Avenue and south of Interstate 60.
