Sulaiman Wants To Be Ringside For Martinez vs. Murray

By James Blears

World Boxing Council President Jose Sulaiman says the Sergio Martinez vs. Martin Murray fight has all the hallmarks of a classic.

At the weekly WBC press conference in the Zona Rosa Offices in the heart of downtown Mexico City - Sulaiman urged scribes, other experts and fans, not to count out the underdog in this encounter. He explained his reasoning by suggesting: “Everybody predicts that Martinez will defeat Murray, but against an undefeated fighter, no one can be sure of anything.

“I think it’s going to be a very good and a very interesting fight indeed, and I would love to be there!”

Since defeating Julio Cesar Chavez, Sergio Martinez has undergone knee surgery. Sulaiman commented: “I’m surprised with the injuries, his age and all the fights he’s had, Sergio is as good as he is.”

Sulaiman stressed it’s natural that Sergio Martinez to have this defense, on April 27th to take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina and he has every right to do so.
I bet he's already plotting how he can give that belt back to Chavez Jr.
I'm sure he is just as Chavez is also plotting on how he can get Martinez to fight him at one of his backyard…

Murray is a hard worker in the ring but compared to Martinez he barely has any power in his hands in comparison! I just see him shying at the occasion and going into defensive mode when the going gets tough…

Looking forward to seeing how Martinez looks coming off of knee surgery. I think this fight will be a tell-all whether Maravilla will be able to stay in the P4P discussion.

Murray is a hard head and this would be a difficult fight for Martinez.

I bet he's already plotting how he can give that belt back to Chavez Jr.
