Jose Sulaiman, the president of the World Boxing Council, is pleading with Erik "El Terrible" Morales (52-8, 36KOs) to seriously consider a full retirement from boxing. Morales, who took punishment during last Saturday's decision loss to Danny Garcia and failed to make weight for the fight, is considering one more fight in the fall, in Tijuana, before retiring for good.

"Erik is definitely not the same fighter as he was before. He had no strength in his legs. He's had a distinguished career. His body did not respond well to physical work [in training camp] and he could not make the junior welterweight limit. It's time for Erik to say goodbye to boxing. His physical condition is not the same as it was before and it's better for him to [retire and] enjoy his family. That is my suggestion because Morales is one of the great Mexican world champions. He should think about it, because he has a beautiful family, with children and he must continue being a businessman and a promoter," Sulaiman said.
