World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman is hoping Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao reach a deal after the two fighters met face to face in Miami and discussed a potential fight with each other for May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. If a deal is not reached this time, after so many failed attempts, Sulaiman believes the public will finally lose interest and move on to something else.

"[Not reaching a deal] would even deflate the public interest. What they want is to see the fight, but we'll see what happens in the coming days. I had great expectations for Canelo-Cotto and that already fell through. I hope they feel and understand the importance of giving the boxing world what they want to see, putting aside egos and personal interests. It's a fight that would give a big boost to the sport of boxing in the eyes of the entire world and that's a great benefit to our sport," Sulaiman said.
