| Sulaiman: HBO Stole Sergio Martinez's Title, Not The WBC
|
|
By Jhonny Gonzalez Sergio Martinez is chasing after the championship that he claims the World Boxing Council took away. He wants the green belt which Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. wears around his waist. WBC President Sulaiman claims that his organization is not at fault. He blames cable network HBO. He says the network refused to approve mandatory challenger Sebastian Zbik and instead approved a fight between Martinez and Sergei Dzinziruk. The WBC had no choice but to take the title, after Martinez was forced to vacate, and make Zbik the full champion. Chavez would later decision Zbik to win the belt. "Martinez dropped his belt because HBO did not accept the mandatory fight he had to do with Sebastian Zbik. He agreed to step aside, while Chavez fought Zbik, and then [Martinez] returned. But it was HBO who shut him [away from the title]. They told him 'we will not accept the fight with Zbik. It has to be with [Dzinziruk].' HBO appointed the challenger. But [Martinez] had to make a mandatory defense, and the Council could not step aside. We have to respect the order, we must respect the laws [of the WBC]. It was HBO who stole the title," Sulaiman told BoxingScene.com's Carlos Irusta. Tags: Sergio Martinez , Jose Sulaiman |

BS. So, the WBC told Chavez that Sergio was mandatory. If he fights someone else then strip him angry give title back to Sergio!
I care as much about the WBC as the WBO, IBO, etc.
I don't think Sergio cares about the WBC title. At this point, he just wants to kick Chavez's ass. |

In part this is Dibella's fault for being HBO little bittch, but at the same time Sulaiman said in an interview Rubio was not the mandatory, then they said he was the mandatory. It's BS they way they've been trying to protect Chavez Jr. |

So the WBC stripped Martinez for not fighting his mandatory, but how many fights has the WBC allowed Chavez Jr. to fight, that weren't his mandatory? |

hahaha
when does the WBC ever enforce mandatory fights?
Selcuk Aydin was Andre Berto's mandatory for years and they never fought. I think Aydin is also Floyd Mayweather's mandatory but the WBC isn't going to force him because Mayweather will just tell the WBC to go f itself.
