Sturm Advises EBU That Proksa-Zbik is Booked For 3/2

By Per Ake Persson

Sturm Box Promotion - headed by the WBA's "super champion" at middleweight, Felix Sturm, has notified the EBU that Grzegorz Proksa´s defense of the EBU middleweight title against former WBC titlist Sebastian Zbik will go ahead March 2 in Germany with a site to be announced.

Proksa vs Zbik shapes up as a very interesting matchup between an up and coming fighter in the Matchroom promoted Proksa - and with Zbik, promoted Universum, is on the comeback trail after losing the WBC title.

However, rumors continue to fly that Zbik, for one reason or another, will be pulled from the fight. Zbik, in various interviews, made statements that he wasn't pleased to be fighting under Sturm's banner.

Sturm Box Promotion put in the purse bid, securing the right to stage the fight. The beat out both Sauerland and Matchroom while Universum´s bid was disqualified due to a break of the rules in the purse bid procedure.
