Stuey Hall Focused, Ready To Unseat Jamie McDonnell

STUART HALL aims to continue his amazing story of beach bum to champion next Saturday.

British bantamweight king Hall faces Jamie McDonnell in front of the European and Commonwealth champion’s home fans in Doncaster after turning his life around.

Hall, 31, has only had 12 fights but the Darlington boxer is already domestic champion and is now in a triple title scrap.

It is a far cry from Hall’s younger years when he went to Ibiza on holiday – and stayed for a five-year party.

He said: “People don’t know the half of what I got up to in Ibiza and I don’t want to say a lot of what went on. But if I wrote a book it would be a best-seller.

“I did have a good time but I did some stupid things and was on the road to being a nobody. I had never been abroad in my life. I was only there one day and decided I was going to stay.

“I had a few knock-backs as an amateur, packed it in and went off the rails in Ibiza for five years. I was 19, ducking and diving, anything to makes ends meet.

“I was giving out flyers, working in clubs and doing anything to keep me over there. I was away from home and I went for it – clubbing, drinking, you name it. I was boozing, stopping out with birds and not thinking about much else in life.

“After a few years I was getting fat and not going anywhere. I had to get my life back on track.”
