The World Boxing Council (WBC) will soon issue an order to begin negotiations for the mandatory heavyweight fight between champion Bermane Stiverne (24-1-1, 21KOs) and challenger Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31KOs). Mauricio Sulaiman, president of the WBC, confirmed that in the second week of August his organization will issue letters to both sides to begin negotiations. If a deal is not reached in 30-days, then a purse bid will be ordered.

"We are going to order the fight in mid-August, with a letter being sent to their promoters in order to start the process," said Sulaiman. "Once they are aware, the period of free negotiations will begin and we'll see what happens. Stiverne told us that he will be ready to fight in November or December."

Shannon briggs called wilder "Beyoncé wilder". Funny coming him considering his name is shannon.

I want Wilder to win but I think Stiverne is going to use his defense the first few rounds and KO Wilder with a counter shot by the middle rounds. Hope I'm wrong.

Don King is doing everything in his power to make sure this fight doesn't happen. We all know he's trying to milk Stiverne as much as he can...and a 1st round KO won't help that goal... js...
