Stevens Drills Roman: Adamek Wins, Chambers Shocked
Mohegan Sun Casino, Uncasville, Connecticut - Middleweight Curtis Stevens (24-3, 17KOs) demolished Saul Roman (37-9, 31KOs) with a first round knockout. After getting Roman in trouble and sending him down, Stevens landed a massive shot that drop Roman on his back and had him out cold.
In his first fight of 2013, former two division world champion Tomasz Adamek (49-2, 29KOs) dominated veteran Dominick Guinn (34-10-1, 23KOs) for a ten round unanimous decision. The scores were 98-92, 99-91, 99-91. There was a clash of heads in the third, which caused a bad cut above the right eye of Guinn.
Thabiso Mchunu (14-1, 10KOs) spoiled the plans of Eddie Chambers (36-4, 18KOs) with a ten round unanimous decision. The scores were 97-93, 99-91, 99-91. Chambers, who spent his career at heavyweight, was looking to become a force in the cruiserweight ranks. Mchunu outworked Chambers, landed the better shots and made the more experienced fighter miss many of his shots.
