Steven Gamache a junior middleweight who is the son of former two-division titleholder Joey Gamache was arrested last week in Maine after allegedly being found with two hydrocodone pills in his possession, according to the Lewiston-Auburn Sun Journal.
Gamache, 29, had been pulled over during a traffic stop and did not have a prescription for the drug, according to the article.
Police said Gamache told the officer a co-worker had given him the pills to treat an unspecified medical condition, the article said.
Gamache made his pro debut in August 2010 and has fought four times, going 4-0 with one victory coming by way of knockout. His last appearance was in October, a four-round decision win over a 4-10-1 fighter named Jose Angel Ortiz, according to BoxRec.com.
His father, Joey Gamache, fought between 1987 and 2000, winning a title at junior lightweight in 1991 and at lightweight in 1992. Joey Gamaches last fight was a second-round knockout loss to Arturo Gatti.
